Be it the Clyde, the Suede, the States or the Basket, there's one thing for sure this family of shoes has to be the best thing that Puma have ever produced, simple design, clean lines, hundreds of colourways with plenty of cultural and historical reference, we have to bow down and give our fullest respect. Part 1 of our story starts with an insight into the man that helped them attain their status, the original fur coated hustler with the signature model, Walt 'Clyde' Frazier.

Nike Free
Part of the quest to keep pushing things forward, Nike's Free system brought the benefits of barefoot training to a shoe. An interesting example of technology and nature working together, not only does the Free perform its job well, it looks good too. How did it all begin? Check out the full story here.

Puma Mongolian BBQ
The offer to fly to Japan, eat food, pick materials and design our own Cabana Racers was something of a no-brainer. Definitely an interesting project with some proper hands-on experience, executed nicely naturally. Puma literally brought something new to the plate so we took full advantage of the opportunity.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
On the court or against Bruce Lee, they don't make sportsmen like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar any more. Setting standards, breaking records with a reign on court that lasted from the sixties to the late eighties, the adidas Jabbar range remained an appropriately stylish and functional collection for a sporting legend, and one that was worthy (respect to his teammate Big Game James) of a resurrection. Make sure you know the sporting history of the kicks you're rocking...

Onitsuka Tiger
One of the OGs of the sneaker game, Onitsuka Tiger have been responsible for a fair number of classics, bolstered by an unorthodox approach to design and details that separates their earlier models from legions of clones. Unwilling to compromise, they did it their way.

Nike Laser
Just when things were getting stale in terms of sneaker design, Nike dropped their latest mode of adornment. Ink based? Nope. Think James Bond. The Laser Project ensured that insane levels of detail could be delivered to footwear, far beyond anything that had gone before. Of course, nowadays it's commonplace on Nike product, but here's how it started.

World Of Troop
The troops gathered in '86 and stomped their way into hip-hop culture, flattening the fat-laced court classics from the ageing old school era. Kaboom. Move over big brands, there's a new kid on the hi-top block and he don't care about your sporting histories. But wait a minute, look at all these rumours, how long could the one minute wonder go toe to toe with the establishment?
