Just a new thread where some pics of 80s runners are gonna be posted...
...the 1st Mariahs....which are think are dope,,,
QUOTE:Oh yes. Do I spy a 'lesser spotted' silver/red/navy omega in the 86 line up? Am I correct in thinking they also did a mid blue Omega as well? This thread wouldn't be complete without the Omega Flame:![]()
Max 1 (not strictly 80s, couple of retros in here):
QUOTE:Hang on, am I reading that right? The Cram Destiny was only ever a a junior's shoe? Bang goes my chance of owning a pair that'll fit me now then. F**k, I should have got the pair of Cram Vendettas that I saw in Top Man ages ago [bawling]
White and Gold shoe, third up, second diagonal coloum is it I believe?
There was modern Zoom Spiridion too, but it was minging
QUOTE:There has been several variations of the Spiridon over the years Elsey, its a bit like the 'pegasus' in that sense. I dont know if you are aware of the origin of the name?Amazing props to FC. I see the "Spiridon" has been used before but a very different shoe. Can somebody educate me on this one?
Spiridon Louis, the winner of the marathon in the first modern Olympic games in 1896.
QUOTE:Noooooooo!!! Say it ain't true, some, quick! F*ckity, f*ck-f*ck!! Cram Vendettas in Top Man??? Go on Dom, what was that all about?Hang on, am I reading that right? The Cram Destiny was only ever a a junior's shoe?
Your post with the Air Stab advert is sweet mik_git, but this post takes it up another notch. My main man at Footcandy, Dave retro_boy got slammed the other day by crispy noodles for calling the sneaker scene a "game". But in my eye's, a little healthy competition is bound to push this post on nicely.
QUOTE:I love the air max light so much. [heart] The airborne is one of my all time favourites too, shame it was only for "da kids". Nike should take a walk down memory lane and revisit some of these classics. Kill the dunk off and bring back some real 80's legends, but dont f**k them up in the process!my word that is the first good pic i have seen of an air max lite - they are lovely and f**k me my first great nike shoe wasnt the vortex it was the airbourne - how time can sully the mind - i remeber speaking to 157 about this and we both said the vortex was slimmer than we remebered it to be i wont be able to look at my vortex now without feeling slightly disappointed ahhh the gift and the curse of knowledge
QUOTE:Someone on here alerted me to a pair of black and yellow runners they had seen in Top Man on Oxford Circus, in the vintage bit upstairs they sometimes have shoes. Anyway, popped there at lunch, looked at them, ummed and arred (they were second hand and a bit manky), massive lines at the checkouts so decided to come back after work, hid them and everything. Went back after work - they were gone. Cram Vendettas they were. [bawling]Noooooooo!!! Say it ain't true, some, quick! F*ckity, f*ck-f*ck!!Cram Vendettas in Top Man??? Go on Dom, what was that all about?
QUOTE:They went for big money though, $180+. They are so much better than the retro....jsut recently someone dumped a heap of DS vortex onto ebay... now they are all gone, why wasn't i paying atention, and they were my size...
QUOTE:Co-signed! For me there will never, ever be a period like 85-91ish again... back when runners, cross trainers and, f*ck me, even walking shoes by Nike were the bomb.Such a quality thread, so many seriously nice shoes on display! Trouble is its reminding me of all the stuff I wore, trashed and slung out! C'mon Nike, dig a little deeper into your history and give us what we want!
QUOTE:i found a pair for Mac a few months back (hope you don't mind me posting the pics mate [beer_right]) but unfortunately they didn't last very long. Those air max lite and the Air Mariah with the orange are absolutely incredible[love] Man what I'd give for a time machine and some old size money.
QUOTE:Slammed is a little harsh.Dave retro_boy got slammed the other day by crispy noodles for calling the sneaker scene a "game".
