the launch in europe as been put back to march! blame is being pushed onto faults with the blu ray discs but surely if this is true why wouldnt it be delayed in asia too?

freemans catalogue are asking £609 for the thing on preorder too now if anyone wants to get in there to put down their name on one anyway, just have to hang on a bit longer now thats all.

Or it could be the fact that they have not started making them yet.

And they are only reportedly getting 20% yields on there cell prosssor which no one can program.

Sony are in a big mess. :sad:

I expected this to be honest, typical Sony really.

Doesnt anyone remember when they announced a worldwide launch for the PSP, only for it to hit UK a whole year later? If the Ps3 hits here by March it'll be like a 60% improvement!!!

thats f****d my plan up then! I was gonna get a PS3 and put it on the Bay just before christmas 'a little christmas money for myself'. I was prepared to pay up-to £450

If the figure of £600 is correct, and Im not to sure about that, the sales will be crap. I know for definite that I wont be!

Not many people can afford £600, plus the 360 is only £200 'probably £150 by the time the ps3 hits the shelves'.

Its going to be like the old days, remember when the PS3 came out! You could not get ahold of them at first and they too where silly money. There was a game shop near my house that had one; it was £2 for 30 minutes to play on it. I spent weeks in there!

gave up on waiting for a ps3 so went out and got the Xbox 360 premium pack for 227.... bought fight night round 3 and havent looked back, and from what i have been told /read on the net all that extra power the ps3 can be used due the fact that game houses just dont have the technology yet...but i dunnno

its typical sony... i remeber delays with the ps2 years ago...

luckily i went and got another ps2 a while ago (old one died after being on for 3 years straight) so noworries...
but as usual PS2/3 minidisc/blueray etc they make it stupid expensive (cover cost of course) then no one buy the damn thing. cut the price in half and watch them rocket out the door...

posted about the ps3 long ago that its gonna be turkey, my thoughts.... that they knew this christmas the wii was gonna clean up, plus the games comming out on the 360 now,and the price drop, leaving it massivley ahead, wouldnt supriise me to see the ps3 have a rethink and come out for next crimbo with higher spec


im off out in the next day or 2 to pick up saints row, mate got it the weekend and its fantastic, brilliant online play too !! check it out

ive bought a 360 (no messing about!) will arrive tomoz with dead rising and ghost recon! cant wait now at last can use the high def on my tv! give me a week or so and will hopefully get myself online.

was going to get just cause for my ps2 but can have it on he 360 now looking so much better, roll on Resident Evil 5 and Pro Evo 6 and a little thing called Halo

has your hdtv got component video socket ? you should fly out and get a component hdtv lead !

gears of war will be theeee game of the year when it eventualy arrives , and saints row is like grand theft, and online play too, its brilliant !!

youl get a free month xbox live thing with your 360, so get online straight away , if you can get fight night 3, the best game for online play , its truly brilliant,spesh in hd !!!

far as im concered, for the price it is, everyone whos avoided the 360, and waited all year for the ps3..is just plain crazy, and with all the new good games out now, its really starting to come in to its own in a big big way

also theres a video camera webcam type thing comming out anytime now, to send vid messages and pictures to mates, and also it will be implimented in games , cant wait for that !!

games like ghost recon style,. youl be able to see your mate in a little box in the corner and stuff, fabulous !

was chattin to a fellow xbox 360 fanatic yesterday and he told me that MS was planning to release Halo 3 at practially the same time as the PS3 this xmas - Sony would have been dead in the water there!

Defo gonna be an xbox 360 and wii for me. I figured I only wanted a PS3 for all the wrong reasons - not the actual game play! I have been on the bay lookin for the Xbox 360, some decent prices there!

Isn't Halo 3 pencilled in for March? This will no doubt be moved to November though.
Gears of War was supposed to be going head to head with the PS3 in november.
Looks like this isn't going to happen in europe now. *adopts Nelson Munce voice* HA HA.

I've got a 32" LCD tv and the 360 looks amazing in hi-def. Just make sure
(if you don't get the premium pack) that you get the official Component lead.
I tried the Joytech one and it was proper shite.

You can find me playing Call of Duty 2 on Live. Gamertag is dusty rug,
so drop me a friend request if you're around.

Dead Rising and Test Drive Unlimited out on Friday. Both the demos rock.

Polsta, i have the samsung h/d tv that the 360's were tested on and used at the booths so should look pretty sweet.

i bought the premium pack so im fine in the cables dept................i hope.

what is gears of war aint really seen it or not took any notice if i have.

COD2 is the game to have for the 360...

I will cop the PS3 (and so will most people, even though they will deny it now) next year,
but not when it's released.

I think sony will loose ground to 360 maybe for the first 6-12 months, but I bet you once the title's from
SSCE start rolling out, they will catch up.

I would describe GoW as a squad shooter, but have a look on gamespot.com for info/movies. It looks amazing.

You got broadband at home Filthy?

If so, there's some awesome demos that you can download for free. Just cause, Saints row, Test drive, Lost planet, Ghost recon, Battlefield 2, Dead rising, to name a few.

And yes, your tv will look sweet. I have my 360 set to 1080i, but there doesn't seem to be much difference between this and 720p. The dashboard definitely looks sharper though.

filthy...im not 100% certain on the difference in quality, but i think the hdtv cable with the premium pack,is just a kind of make do one, that can do hd and normal etc, i dont think its component, which is the one you want for maximum clarity etc

check on the back of your telly, or just put the model in google, and see if its component, on the back ... it will have a red,green,.blue, all seperate bits , with component written there, the leads about £25 or so

i couldnt be sure,coz i dont have the premium lead, and bought the extra coz i could only get my hands on a core system at the time of original release (was lucky as f**k to get it) , so just look in to it

and on the 720p/1080i front , i hear that 720 progressive, its quicker and better for games,and the 1080i for films

i= interlace , p= progressive, im not too sure the difference, but p is better , and 1080p will be on the new top hdtvs soon and might be on some already

.....


gtears of war is a kind of shoot em up, it just looks incredible, been a couple of years in the making and lots of talking about, just cant wait for it to be around

i have call of duty and battlefield here, but neither are a patch on the pc battlefield etc and the way they run, and the control method also , keyboard n mouse is the way for them kind of games

thinking about it i might go n trade one of em for saints row , which really does look fabulous !

yeah just plug the 360 in to the router, youl get a free month xbox live gold included, then after that you just buy a voucher form a shop , for £40 i think for a year,a nd put the code in !

if you have a good pc ?? ideally with media centre installed, you can hook them up to view photos and vids on the 360, which is good to do, the photos viewd through the 360 on a hdtv look amazing and far better than on the same telly through the pc , give it a whirl if you have lots of digi pics

also an ipod if you have one ? works well with the 360, just plug it in the usb,and can change all game music etc to anything you want

it has component yeah cause thats how i run my ps 2 at the moment. aint got media centre but can get it through work not a problem but not sure i would use it for anything like that so worry about that later possibly

You get an ethernet cable in the premium pack, but you can use any old cable. Just a standard connection like the OG xbox.

Ignore polsta re: HD cables. The one that comes with the premium pack is identical to the one you pay 20 quid for in the shops. No need to upgrade as it's the best out there, bar the £70 monster version.

With regard to prices, when you first set up your gamertag and head online, you get the standard Silver membership. This allows you to download demos, pictures, themes, trailers, etc, and is free.

To play games online you need to have Gold membership. You get 1 month free when you first sign up and get your silver membership, and/or you can either a)use an existing gamertag/membership from OG xbox, or b)pay £39.99 for a years subscription. This can all be done online, so no need to go to Game/Virgin/HMV to purchase.
