England could find that a real tough selection to get through as could some of the other seeds - honest if the draw doesnt go there way and South Africa get USA, France / Prtugal and Ivory Coast then they arent progressing

I hope we get North Korea that would be ace

Is this system new for this world cup? I thought it was just eight seeded teams and then one big pot with the others, or maybe two based on continents. I guess FIFA wants to control it as much as possible. But why not put the seeded teams straight to playoff. Impossible for any group to be a real "Group of Death" imo.

And congrats to all nations that made the world cup, for the first time since 2000 Sweden are not qualified for a big championship. They didnt deserve it though. Except for that, the only team im missing is Croatia, nice to see that all the good teams made it through the qualifications.

Personally I think the idea of having seeded teams is wrong in pretty much any competition.

Cheers for the times at least I will be home in time for the first two games and the third game will have to be my day off.

We should whip that group but this is England were talking about and no doubt we will make it more difficult for ourselves then what we need to. The real competiton starts at the knock out stages.

Agreed, you should win that group. As long as you play better than in the qualifiers you should be ok.

Here's some flag lessons for you all:

BBC sign Klinsmann

Sadly, they are retaining the services of Mark "inane" Bright.

Walcott not going.

Interesting that it appears the players getting dropped are blabbing to the press before the official announcement.

Walcott said to be very upset about being left out. Well, serves him right really. He has to do more in games for both Arsenal and England. I definitely think he needs to show a back-bone at Arsenal and the next time he gets subbed when playing quite well, give Wenger a gob full or throw a shirt or actually show to the world that he is fed up instead of just putting on that little boy lost look and trudging happily to the bench.

As a player, he is no better now than when he left Southampton.

Paying the price for (and probably still trying to scramble back for) that Paul Parker deflection in Turin

Shilts gets very little blame for that howler

Once walked past a drunk Shilts slumped on a park bench in Southampton.

Was a slight worry as he was supposed to be playing for us that afternoon.
