Sometimes these top-level Japanese Nike jumpoffs are too subdued for their own good. They're nearly always wearable, but too often, you wouldn't break out the paper and write home about much that drops with the big names attached. Things have been too clean and sober on that front. Not this Nike hookup with Under Cover and fragment design. These five shoes get it right. In case you were curious as to how a forgotten tennis shoe ended up ...

More Nike All Courts? Yup. These seem to be getting a heavy push of late, and we're assuming the intent is to get them up to the level of some iconic staples from the brand. Like any brand archive, there's some nondescript pieces in the vaults undeserving of a re-up, but we can understand why this model keeps reappearing for Quickstrike outings. On face value the All Court is hardly remarkable - tennis styling with the hardcourt outsole (is ...

Nike Free Run+

@ 6:00PM by gwar
If you were keen on the Free 3.0, 5.0 and 7.0 you're really going to like the Free Run+. We'll go out on a limb as self-confessed Free Trail and Free Everyday fanboys and say they're the best Free design yet. Big, bombastic words, but we're willing to back up our wild-eyed claims. We could keep reiterating the same point time and time again, but Nike's athletic output just gets prettier and ...

The mids definitely caused mixed feelings round these parts, but the Nike All Court is definitely a shoe we're big on. That's because we're rapidly aging and need shoes that don't make us look like moon men, or Jonathan King back when he rocked the OG Pump in 'You' magazine back in the day. Even if the original retro gathered dust on its release, and regardless of opinion over how much of a no-brainer it was ...

A week late on these, but they had to be included in the news as they're one of the nicest executions of one of the greatest shoes ever - "pee stain" effect and all. Whether its the inline SB version in basic shades or that much-missed black and white canvas foxed '02 retro of a late '70s early '80s Blazer Mid shape with the skinnier branding, we'll just keep hoarding this model in any incarnation along these lines. They ...

When the first brace of Lenny's latest arrived in the Crooked Store we didn't actually know what they represented. Something about baseball grounds, but that seemed to be as far as it went. The black highs were tremendous though. The link between Futura and Rick Ross was conferred when we saw shots of Rawse rocking a pair, and they just seemed to carry a certain fuss-free greatness, with the gradual perforations and signature lettering on the outsole and ...

This is a tough trio indeed. While the lack of Jabbar name on the last 'The Unforeseen' project left us confused but impressed at the sheer quality of the leather on those Non-Dyed numbers, that standard seems to leach into these three offbeat makeups too. The Campus, Spezial and Gazelle are sacred cows, and while we still don't understand what 'The Unforeseen' project is, we've started to associate it with colourways that bring to mind the best of ...

There's lots of northern DNA up in these ASICS, and having played with their clever 'Northern Sole' concept before, Hanon Shop have added some intergalactic touches to it this time around. What we always enjoy about the Aberdeen store's collaborative pieces is the thought process behind them, and how the end execution can be appreciated at face value too. Old soul and the space age also brings to mind that weird video with the man made of stars ...

Nike SFB Mid

@ 2:16AM by gwar
This is more of that much-needed new from Nike, and as self-professed SFB fanboys, this offers the militaristic Free-soled formula in a more commercial format. Oddly, by all accounts, these aren't even getting a UK release, despite being readily available on the US Nike site rather than being given Tier Zero treatment. If Hiroshi had given 'em a reworking, that wouldn't be the case, but in this agreeably bland desert shade that sits alongside anything, we're already ...
