Here's more quality adidas Forum Mids, just in case you hadn't seen enough this year. This makeup of the shoe feels like a descendent of the OT Tech classiness of recent seasons, but with a slightly more refined twist. It's good to see adidas Originals treating the shoe well, and we've seen so many makeups post Five-Two 3 campaign that it's been pretty dizzying. More often than not, despite the deluge, they've retained the core appeal of the Forum. We're not huge fans of the low, and we'd like to see a high every now and again, but the Mid is a fair compromise. Pre-Originals, the Forum remained a grail for those in the know, and we've seen them on the feet of Boston hip-hop artists (we'd love to hear more about the fabled "adidas tree") in press shots and record sleeves for a long, long time. This model was a deeply expensive status symbol in its day. Now? It still holds up as a top five adidas design, even if they're a little easier to grab.
All-brown-everything is in full-effect here, bar off-white midsole, eyelets, and an appealing blast of orange on the tongue. Nylon and leather is a serious material combo. Extra eccentricity is present via an unexpected spot of hooked hiker style lacing around the collar, the metal buckle and the heel taping that isn't linked in to anything else we're got on pre-order at present. Lighter than the usual Forum but with a heavyweight look, these are keepers in these disposable times. One day, there'll be a drought and we'll yearn for releases like this...
