Pointer & Baracuta Ramsey Jacket Competition image
Pointer aren't playing on the collaboration front. Speaking to Gareth a few years back, he quite rightly derided the then-state of dual-label projects. Even now it's the usual suspects, the usual licenses being reeled out and the usual products again and again. Pointer occasionally get their dual-label on, and it seems nicely self-indulgent, working with products and brands that we know all involved in the brand genuinely believe in. The ultra-muted Comme teamup was a good start, but this is even better. Baracuta makes great, great jackets like the G9. If you've admired Miles Davis or the overblogged perennial cool of Steve McQueen rocking the Harrington then there's a fair chance you've admired the G9 design. We don't mess with the Asian-made versions of that coat, whether new or vintage. They just don't cut it. But the recently resurrected UK-made versions are a work-of-art.

The G23, a raincoat commissioned for Sir Alf Ramsey and our boys back in 1966 and worn en masse in a flattering beige is another great piece from the Manchester factory's archives. Pointer switched up subtle elements of this shoulder-flapped UK-masterpiece like some elements of the cut and restoration of the check lining. It all makes a certain sense, and in a simple navy with some subtle branding, we'd be quite happy to get our grown man on and rock one in the inclement conditions approaching. Except we won't, because we're giving our freebie allocation away, and we've got one Pointer Baracuta Ramsey Jacket up for grabs. Any Pointer purchase before midnight on Sunday August the 8th gets the buyer entered instantly (check here for terms and conditions).

Pointer have got some superior designs on the horizon too, and possibly some more collaborative surprises executed with their usual lowkey charm. Anyway, we know you're all as preoccupied with outerwear as you are with sneakers these days. This design lets those worlds collide effortlessly. Good luck...
