We want a late pass on these. We were on some Phileas Fogg steelo when these went all over the internet. An abject lesson in giving the people what they want, while it would be cool if these were inline gems, plentiful in supply and a surprise on the shelves, we're stoked to see the Consortium line dropping gimmick-free bangers. the formula's simple - take some of adidas's most perfect silhouettes, then put some tried and tested makeups on them. Tokio Lows look good in purple, green and yellow, and implementing dual colours on the midsoles comes correct - something that the VA 'Your City' version managed to take a tumble on. It's a shame they're not GORE-TEX lined for extra versatility, but we're not going to cry ourselves to sleep over that lack of application.

The ZX 450 is sharp in red and yellow, but the winner right here is the fine ZXZ - arguably one of the greatest to ever carry those late alphabet letters, given a Dublin-themed dose of colours and waterproof materials. The blue and orange can elevate most models, but here it works exceptionally well. You can hurl referential colourways at any shoe assuming they'll stick, but it still requires a spot of design savvy to make them work properly, and as with the 8000s from last week, these are a fine translation.

Drop one in this collection flew out the Crooked Store, and we were informed that the queue at Berlin's no. 74 space was over a hundred deep on Friday morning. Whoa. If we didn't know any better, we'd think it was 2005 all over again. Interest in shoes hasn't diminished - it's just that so many efforts have missed the mark lately, and these just get it right. No fuss, plenty of heritage in the mix and premium quality. Simple, well executed and set for release here and at Consortium partner stores next month.
