First things first, apologies for the slightly shonky lacing. These are store images, and we'll be fixing that shortly. We have shoelace OCD, and we know you do too, and it makes us squirm too. Having said that, if you're that much of a puritan, seeing these creations may have already made you slam your MacBook shut, punch a wall and commit a familiy annihilation. We've long had an axe to grind with Brand Jordan for mixing and matching to their heart's content at the expense of the esteemed MJ archives, but we're not too mad at these. We don't need an intimate knowledge of basketball history to get the gist either - they're a JB blowback from 2009's Yeezy-mania. You know; the shoe that made people flee from sports footwear into brogues and tweed fixations for the time being, but had other factions willing to slaughter their mum and eat the remains for a pair. It was a shoe that elicited strong reactions. A Jordan III style midsole, some bulk and a Velcro strap is enough to jump to those kinds of conclusions.
There's some other odd quirks in here too. Don't forget that the third Jordan's sole unit, and much of the shape stems from the Air Revolution. In fact, the Jordan III was billed as the 'Air Jordan Revolution' during development. In this makeup, and with that black strap, there's some homaging going on here. Except no one ever seems to tell those stories. These things just appear. If that wasn't enough, it adds the Jumpman to the original Flight script on the tongue, faintly evoking other classics, the Flight 89 Hi and Solo Flight*. Is this some kind of history lesson in a shoe, or are we reading into it too much? Probably the latter, but when you've got paragaphs to bulk, and don't want to rehash existing text, (Nike Air) flights-of-fancy are inevitable. For a fusion these are decent enough - that sole will always give a shoe an agreeable width, and for those wanting a Kanye-esque design without the eBay markup, fear of fakery or that vast shiny sci-fi finishing touch, these should fit the bill. These are available to <a href= 'http://www.crookedtongues.com/store/footwear/jordan/1276/flight-45-hi-pre-buy/'>pre-order</a> in the Crooked Store now.

* Cheers to roblobster for the observation.
