The Nike Lunar Rejuven8 Mids that accompany these Footscape Motions in their USA pack have already been in the News section before, but these deserves their own inclusion. Bar the impending grey speckle South Africa Lunar-soled releases, the Cartoon pack is the crowdpleaser in Nike's World Cup trend-level armory, representing the USA. Remember when we chuckled at the Americans in '94, even though they were hosting and we never qualified? Remember wizard-like Alexi Lalas? Actually, that summer was pretty crap, bar MC Eiht dropping a classic, and some Jordan reissues hitting sale in Lakeside's JD Sports.
In 2010 the USA's a real threat, and their Nike Quickstrikes aren't too bad either. Getting Mister Cartoon is a shrewd move too - we've been fans since Cypress Hill's visual identity eclipsed their more meat and potatoes contemporaries, and using black and white, his versions of the shoes bring out the best in this distinctive design. The Flywire on the Footscape Motion's upper even parallels Mister Cartoon's needle strokes in an odd way, and while So Me's French creations are cool, this pick of artist partner captures his aesthetic the best. Last World Cup was celebrated with some Tier Zero fusions of Footscape and Air Woven - 4 years on, Nike are still playing God with oddball sneaker DNA. These have the necessary lightweight feel and stability for pub wear during matches. We still know some watering holes where the Footscapes will get you funny looks though. The Rejuven8 Mids are in the Crooked store right now and come highly recommended, while these shoes should be in-store for tuesday.

What can I say ch33ky, Tuesday turned into Wednesday and that's turning into Thursday by the look of things. The world of site relaunches has swallowed this week up for me...
