If you've seen the Nike Mister cartoon Rejuven8 Mid in the Crooked Tongues News before, it's because it was, but the photos weren't up to much, so we put it up again. We can't believe we effed up and made a half-arsed news post - our excuse was we didn't read the affiliated press materials before we uploaded it. The forthcoming camo version of the Nike Lunar Rejuven8 Mid is refreshing on a number of levels. Firstly, we love camo and like the way it's sneaking (as is its stealthy way) back into the hipster doofus consciousness again after a couple of years where everything turned black. Secondly, all cult Nike models have to get that treatment at some point - we're thinking Terra Humaras and URLs here. And thirdly? We just like this model. Not as much as Jesse Leyva's black-on-black Lunar Woven Chukka (can anyone else remember our friends at Being Hunted getting vexed at Nike for daring to tweak the Woven into a mid-cut? Ah, memories...and is it just us or was the Footscape Woven Boot mad underrated?) but it's a good use of current technologies that feels right for the summer. But we're talking about another colourway here.

This is the winning makeup of the Lunar Rejuven8 Mid thus far, until those camouflage ones turn up to improve our lives a little. Bar a few dishonourable exceptions, you can't go wrong with a white sole unit and black upper. The spirit of the Alpha Project lives in these releases - while they aren't quite as out there, there's still plenty of progressive thinking on display. Much as the Woven was a little too 'One Thousand and One Arabian Nights' in the silhouette department for some of us, losing its edge but becoming more wearable as a boot, the Nike Rejuven8 was a great experiment, but it's easier to wear in this form too. On that topic, research nerds should check Google Patents to see illustrations of the original 'Net' version of that shoe too. These will get frequent outings from Crooked staffers in the coming months. Comfortable, forward thinking, and more proof that Lunar foam is the new Air as far as Nike are concerned.
