Since we first took a look at the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse in this section of the site, we now know that Fuse technology is going to be a big focus in 2011. From day one, we were informed that it would enter cross training as well as the basketball side of the business, but it's set to bless contemporary performance pieces (like the Sweet Victory Lunar+) from other genres as well as some old Air favourites in coming months. The resilient, breathable and supportive mesh mashup is a fresh approach to seamless uppers and the bolder colours really set this shoe off.

There's more player editions and retail colourways of the Hyperfuse than we can keep track of, but one undisputed banger that had us nodding in agreement was the Black/Volt variation that ties into some recent Lunarlon creations like the Lunar Wood and Lunarpath too (though it's worth noting that the Hyperfuse doesn't use Lunar—it's not an ideal basketball technology), making the current season's performance seem significantly more cohesive.

We've just taken delivery of four colourways in the Crooked store, and to tie-in, Mr. Leo Chang, Head Designer for Nike Basketball took some time out to talk design processes, as he—alongside free-thinking Innovation Kitchen masterchefs Shane Kohatsu and Fred Dojan—was a key contributor to this shoe. Check the shoes out here, and check out the feature here...
