Nike Sportswear Huarache Free Royal Blue/Scream Green image
This is the third time we've covered the Nike Huarache Free on here, and we're bored of pouring mild criticism on this shoe for not being a standard Huarache. We'd prefer it if this shoe wasn't a slightly awkward flexible remix, but it isn't, so we need to get over it. Plus we know that there's normal Huarache reissues on the way at some point. The Royal Blue/Scream Green colourway from back in the day is something that feels fresh in our minds, even though it's 21 years old. Even the 2000 retro is pushing 12 years old, yet we can remember the day we first saw these, and it's a shoe that became a must-have with generations below the old men of sports footwear too. We also think this is vying for greatest Huarache colourway ever alongside the Emerald and Resin makeup or Ultramarine Lights. We imagine that these inline Nike Sportswear remixes will resonate with a new audience in the same way too, so who are we to stand in the way of devolution? If you're not some puritanical old fart like us, you might be all over these when they drop in May. It's one of the truly great colour combos, from an era when nobody had to put their life story into a makeup or accompany each colourway with some dull moodboard of record covers and men in wax jackets. With that in mind, these are one of the best versions of this shoe to date. Out of interest Nike, we know you gave us a few amazing makeups of the Huarache Light between 2002 and 2004, but can we have another retro of it please? Even the Huarache Light Burst is a finer example of hybrid Huarache technology than most other cut and shut reworkings. You can take a closer look at these Huarache Free makeups right here...

Love it if these could be bought in a size 12 in the UK... seems all the shops over here are begging me to give my money to the US.
