If the adidas Consortium München is shaping up to be wildly out of your price point, these inline editions that are set for a March release still bring out the best in the shoe. For a while, a couple of these colourways were strictly a size? exclusive, and we flipped out over the green and white variations that are some of the best Münchens to date. Next month they arrive in the store. The chunk of that PU sole that represents adidas in its purist, terrace-trend led form mixed with that mesh and suede upper is instantly appealing. We're not sure why 2012 is the chosen year for this model to get the treatment it deserves, but we're not going to argue with the opportunity to grab these for around sixty quid.
With a pick of primary colours or a basic black and white, we've gone from a drought with regards to late 1970's and early 1980's training icons to being flooded with these, a new München Super reinterpretation, more Spezials and a handful of Baltic Cup makeups. Then there's the small matter of the Team GB themed editions as well. Can we have the pinks and orange suede makeups back too?
We took this shoe outdoors, away from the sterile confines of the studio, and froze during the process. These are proper shoes that go with everything, but the sizing still confounds us a little — half a size up we've found that they're comfortable, but when we've gone true, they look a lot more welcoming than they are on the feet. The expanse of white, dimpled polyurethane, jagged lace stays, angled forefoot stitching and the supportive panel around the rear stays untouchable. Design classics for those that appreciate good shoes. All three of these shoes are available to
pre-order now from the Crooked Tongues store now. One measly month into the year and it's shaping up to be a good one from a heritage point-of-view.
