The Nike Air Epic is easily one of the greatest running shoes of all time and the recent retro, like the one a few years back, has maintained that power. Sure, you knew you were going to get more colours (and we actually like the Lunarlon variant too) beyond the original colourway and while we still want to know if anybody out there likes the yellowed piss-spill vintage effect, this makeup's a banger. Once a no-expense spared top tier running shoe that had a heavy RRP to put it just beneath the likes of the NB 1300. Nike's CEO Mark Parker on design duties and the Air Wedge in the heel that always seemed to signal serious running, plus those reflective underlays all made this a very significant creation. Did we dream it or did originals come with and without Nike Air on the heel? Regardless, this is a shoe with plenty of stealthy detailing to work with and without those hits of green, that black and white alone would make these look a little like the Nike Decades the Heaven's Gate cult committed mass suicide in. With the acccent colour on the medial side's dual density and that distinctive heel counter, plus a particularly soft nylon toe, the Epic stays epic. These arrive in the Crooked Tongues store very soon.
