Nike Air Tech Challenge II Burgundy & Navy: reign of the Tech

We're assuming that the warm weather is going to dip at the close of next month, so the Nike Air Tech Challenge II is getting coloured up accordingly. We've seen a slew of great neon accented variations of Agassi's finest shoe and we're not tired of them yet, but these navy and burgundy versions are equally as good. You've got to hand it to someone at Nike for avoiding the temptation to make these all burgundy to capitalise on a love of all red shoes right now (especially a certain one with a Nike ATC sole unit). We still think that there's some slight half-stepping with the suede on the uppers, but seeing as samples are prone to getting amendments, these might alter form before they go on sale in September. If you want something darker, that black soled sample that did the blog rounds recently (and we prefer a white or off white sole on ours) seems to be on the horizon too. As with most other shoes that drop in several makeups, there's not much else to say about this design from a cultural perspective — John McEnroe, Andre Agassi, Tim Allen, George Bush etc. etc. — but we're very, very excited about the impending reissue of the Air Flare. It's nice to get the opportunity to break this silhouette out with shorts right now and these pairs seem pretty denim-friendly. Keep your eyes peeled for these.
