Ransom by adidas Mesa

Ransom by adidas haven't been playing it too safe lately. The mad hybrids of 40 Below monsters and Sorel-esque duck boot designs have been welcome round these parts during the last few weeks. The towering Crest model sat in its box waiting for its day of reckoning. While we don't get the same conditions that our friends at Ransom suffer, thanks to their Canadian location, that boot made short work of a few inches of snow, slush and ice on those days cold enough for the Doublegoose to come out to play. Those and the Summits are built to last...this season's debut follows that roughneck family tree, as the eight inch high Mesa boot takes a more militaristic inspiration from combat boots old and new.

A traditional look from the waterproof leathers and suedes is complemented by the use of Cordura for a resilient, ripstop feel that breathes and minimises weight too, meaning they aren't just for minus figures on the thermometer. Taking influence from today's tactical boots (Palladium, Lowa, Meindl and Alfa have been bringing the ruckus lately) is no bad thing and these are built to last. As long as Team Ransom keep making shoes that could appear in Mercury Records Ultramagnetic press shots as well as on extended Ransom family member Drake's feet during his next onstage cameo, there's plenty more mileage in those mountains when it comes to this collaboration project. These should be arriving in a few month's time...
