1 for the road...

The build quality is still variable and the mid-cut shape is as barmy as it gets, but these acorn/khaki-laced Jordan 1 makeups are as acceptable as contemporary Retro+ attempts get. Way better than the usual, they're available at size? now. We're hoping that the AJ1 'Phat' and the mooted avalanche of crap, is just a bad dream.

Crooked Tongues & adidas 'Celebrate Originality'

After the huge success of last year's Crooked Tongues BBK BBQ, we've teamed up with adidas Originals to celebrate originality, CT style in Bangkok. The Crooked party spirit is legendary, and for one night only, from 7pm-12am on Friday 4th April at the Galaxy Restaurant, Rama 4 Road, it's back with Kiss 100's legendary DJ MK, Kung Fu's Harry Love and DMC champ Mr Thing manning the turntables. Expect hip-hop, dancehall and all that other good stuff from London's finest. There'll be complimentary Singha beers, Mr BJ Betts displaying his considerable artistic skills plus a display of CT's all-time favourite adi models.

Bronx Bomber

True graffiti legend Cope2 has teamed up with adidas for his own collaborative collection of shoes and apparel, kicking off with this heavily tagged Superstar. By recruiting the man himself, Foot Locker and adidas have upped the authenticity, and to launch this campaign, Cope is making appearances at Foot Locker stores across Europe, and he'll be in attendance to tag prints, black books and footwear in London's vast Oxford Street branch this Friday (28th March). If you aren't aware of the man's work, you better ask somebody. Additionally, visit www.footlocker.eu/adidascope2 for the opportunity to win an all-expenses trip to New York where you'll see the city from Cope's unique perspective. Which we think you'll agree, is an impressive prize.

Shoe drought solutions...

The most interesting era for the TN since the colourway avalanche that saw in this decade is here as Foot Locker have dropped a brace of truly way-out colourways. Further cementing their rep as the most interesting high street retailer, there's some killer takes on the mighty Tyan on the shelf and a classic makeup in the shape of this Terra ACG-esque Wild Edge (word to K for the heads up). The catch? They're women's sizes only.

Brand Jordan gets Smart

Party animal, seminal writer and friend of Crooked, Smart was given the invite to help with the launch of the Jordan 23 - a decent shoe, and one of the first AJ releases in recent years that doesn't look like a ploy to make people look like travellers from the planet fuckwit. With a lot of history, and skills to match, the meeting of minds had its launch on saturday, with his collaborative art on display until the 18th of this month. If you're in Italy, check the flyer and pay a visit.

Good t-shirt alert...

One of our favourite SB retailers, and a long-established independent skate store, the brilliantly named Bored Of Southsea have a fine range of t-shirts worthy of attention - this Junior Bruce designed tee is a highlight (also available on a mug - nice) but the Barbara Kruger/Lafayette Ave. riffing box logo made us chuckle too... www.boredofsouthsea.co.uk

23 is the magic number...

Look at the dapper duo on the cover of the new Sole Collector - yep, it's that time of the year when JB open the doors and chequebook to offer another annual dose of unrivalled AJ coverage, including hefty features on the XX3's development and a whole ton of Jordan releases you've never seen before - some amazing, some repulsive. Worth a read, it's available at the usual spots, or by mailing brian@solecollector.com for more information.

One hundred years of solidness...

To set off their anniversary year, Converse have reworked their size? concession very nicely indeed. And there's a ton of decent releases on the shelves too, and if the previews we've seen are anything to go on, there's a lot of welcome resurrections on the horizon. Worth a visit. Just ignore the Photoshopped images of Ian Curtis, Sid Vicious and Jefferson Hack (?) on the windows...
