There's really no point breaking down the importance of the Superstar as a cultural icon. If you don't know, then you'd really better ask somebody. What's we do need to mention is that these were released as part of the 2005's Superstar 35 campaign, where adidas paid homage to this classic model, by erasing memories of some weak retros, with a collection of limited edition versions that expanded on the essence of this sneaker standard. Of course, many since have imitated this 'respectful retro' technique to commemorate a classic model, but these were the business. Nice materials, good packaging and a well-thought out campaign that ensured these didn't stick around for long. Uniting both hypebeasts and purist fans of traditional, clean training shoes, this is an excellent opportunity to pick up this Run DMC-endorsed variation that sold-out almost immediately, paying apt tribute to the Shelltoe popularizing kids from Queens...
