I know it's hard to accept, but alife are cooler than you, and this '03 collaboration proves it. Flipping a shoe style that represents New York and it's 'baller culture, they, to misquote Bronx favourite, Tim Dog, took a classic shoe and made it better. With the thick black sole, the patterned material used on the toebox and beyond, the matter-of-fact branding, thick laces and the classy colours, alife went to town on this model, taking it far, far away from the usual 'pick a colourway and keep it limited' collaboration policy that's so common nowadays. And there you were, dismissing them as 'moon boots' when they went on sale. Time to repent...
