alife know their shoes, and while messing with the classics is a treading on thin ice, in the hands of New York's finest it's a no-brainer - paying homage to the originals, but bringing something new to the table without desecration. The peg system offers different levels of suspension and the classic looks draw comparisons with the mighty Forest Hills, with that same level of terrace cool. With the New Yorkers adding a red trim (check the front of the shoe) gold stripes and logo stitching among the nylon and leather, the Grand Slam's history and target audience isn't compromised in the slightest. In an ideal world, all collaborations would be this good...
