Crooked Tongues Store
Jordan - Collection 18/5
Jordan brand's recent double packs have been a bone of contention for many. Some saw the coupling of the iconic classics from the eighties and early 90s with some of their more recent (and shall we say 'aesthetically challenged') bloodline as a somewhat cynical attempt to sell twice as much product. At CT we are not quite the jaded and recognise the merits of this double-teaming twosome. Each pack consists of two Jordans whose numeric value adds up to 23, the number MJ played in up to until his first retirement in '93. In this instance you get the iconic Jordan 5 and the high-tech, low-profile 18.
Another sneaker milestone available to you from the CT store. Arguably the final segment of Mike’s signature shoe’s string of classic designs, prior to the introduction of 1995’s patent-laced XI model. To say the 1990s Jordan installment blew some minds would be something of an understatement. The 3M on the tongue long before everyone’s kicks flashed bright white when the headlights approached, the lace locks, the sleek silhouette, the transparent sole and the shark tooth design on the midsole made it a done deal. A classic, missed by many due to a substantial price tag when it hit shelves long before you had disposable income. This time round the Jordan V is paired up with the Jordan 18. First released in 2003, the 18 (XVIII) marked the last shoe of MJ's playing career. Inspired by Michael's love of automobiles, the shoe uses F1 carbon technology in its construction as well as a driving shoe-style rubber heel cap.
