Have you hugged your foot today? Picking up on the experimentation of the Flow, the Huarache was the one that brought the ruckus in ’91, named after a flat-heeled sandal with an upper of leather strips, pushing cutting-edge design to the mainstream. With an inner lining that stretched for a sock-like fit, bolstered by an outer-frame and some aesthetically pleasing panels, it’s a stone-cold design classic. Whereas more unconventional designs nowadays are relegated to heads, connoisseurs and hipsters, the Huarache had and still retains, mass appeal. Perhaps it was the influence of Derek Redmond’s Dad and his impromptu appearance in a Huarache t-shirt – but it was probably just because it’s a remarkable shoe. These are a limited edition early '00s collaboration with Stüssy that was incredibly slept-on...until they were nigh-on impossible to get hold of with timeless colours and materials that brought this model back to popular consciousness.
