Pro-Keds - royal lo canvas
The PRO-Keds Royal models hark back to a time before basketball shoes got teched-out on us. Originally launched in 1926 as the Royal Tread, on PRO-Keds's (the division of Keds that launched in 1949) launch it became an NBA mainstay. You can stick your Chuck Taylor comparisons too, the Royal is nearly a decade younger, but the width, and those 'Powerstripes' on the midsole are different. These represent the original breed of sneakerhead, officially one of the first sneakers lusted after at trend level when NYC birthed the sneaker connoisseur mentality, and deserve to blow up on these shores too in high or low form...
