Ian Mackaye knew the power of the Vans Old Skool, and that's good enough for us. A more detailed departure from the usual Vans blueprint, with the 'jazz stripe' branding, canvas and suede on the upper, and a clean and easily identifiable shape, the Old Skool (style 36) was originally released in 1977 and as with so many other Vans designs, it's still very much in circulation, with subcultural credentials by the truckload.
