Introduced in '87, the Air Max is the visible aired daddy of the contemporary running shoe game. An absolute beauty that commands respect across the board, if you'd questioned exactly what the A I R font actually represented, or attempted an ill-fated dissection on your beaters to actually see the system, here it was, in full view with some serious visual and practical appeal. Despite some minor modifications in recent years to the AM1 template, this still towers over contemporary models, with a thick sole and a multi-paneled upper that's virtually impossible to ruin in any makeover, though some recent efforts have had a damn good try. This interpretation comes correct with a subtle yet striking colourway of light bone, black and anthracite with a combination of leather and nubuck on the upper. One of the nicer Air Max releases of '08.
