The Royal isn't our usual kind of shoe pick - those metallic versions are a definite no-no, and that leather spilling over onto the midsole is not top of our list of killer applications. These versions are superb though, channeling a workboot look perfectly. the perforated Swoosh pares down the branding. There's some Dunk, AJ1 and Big Nike in the mix, but this isn't another lame fashion-led cash-in by any stretch of the imagination, and the quality is impeccable. These Quickstrike takes are more than a little Red Wing in their appearance, and the pick of colours and laces, with some excellent use of contrast stitch too.
