Jordan brand's recent double packs have been a bone of contention for many. Some saw the coupling of the iconic classics from the eighties and early 90s with some of their more recent (and shall we say 'aesthetically challenged') bloodline as a somewhat cynical attempt to sell twice as much product. At CT, believe it or not, we're not quite so jaded and recognise the merits of this double-teaming twosome.

An underrated entry in Jordan Brand's double-packed blizzard of shoes that add up to 23 (get it?), 1993's Jordan VII, with shades of Raid about it, and an eccentric look, paled in comparison to the lunacy of 1999's XV. Tinker Hatfield and Mark Smith definitely don't follow the rest of the pack, and these are pioneering in their lunacy. VII's are a great day-to-day wear, while the XV, in all its 'flared' collar and woven glory (influenced by experimental military plane designs) performs surprisingly well. It's easy to forget just how pioneering Mike's signature range was, in this era of futuristic pro model creations, but we'll be damned if these didn't set madcap precedents. A pioneering duo.
