Artist series shoes can be a tricky one to execute. Too little can lead to a wasted opportunity, while letting the collaborator go too wild leads to a mess that's difficult to shift, and hurt feelings all round. No fear of that for this project from Amsterdam's Patta and ASICS. Following the '07 pandemonium surrounding the Gel Lyte III, team Patta keep on affording these great, great silhouettes that throw back to a time of individualism. The Lyte Speed is a cult running favourite from 1991, and these are part of a trio, with this pair inspired by the work of artist and Patta associate Delta with original work from him on the footbed and lining. These incredibly limited variations come packaged with a corresponding backpack. Mesh toeboxes, innovative use of materials and all that other good stuff makes them as wearable as they are collectible.
