Saucony Shadow 6000

The Shadow 6000's '91 styling made it a key performance piece, winning the loyalty of normal folk who utilised their footwear for actual athletic benefit rather than our tendency toward brief wear, wipe and stash. With a superb moulded midsole application that merged EVA and PVU, there was immense potential for a slick reworking that'd be the antidote to the obvious collaborative fodder. The evolution of the Jazz and Freedom, the Shadow was the reinforced, cushioned, shank-inserted, 3M Scotchlite applied darling of the mid '80s, but the 6000 rehaul brought it perfectly up to date. Remaining in an almost constant production, the more neutral variations were a Rivington Club staple. Offering so many different panels (particularly the distinctive heel and forefoot domed cutouts) ripe for tinkering, but easy to tip into a busy mess, they're something of a challenge for potential reworkers, but made with the same base mesh and bottom unit as they originally were and executed properly like this, they're a great great shoe.
