The byproduct of Paul Sperry’s fixation with his spaniel’s uncanny grip on icy surfaces, Sperry’s Topsider, was introduced in 1935. But that’s not where the Sperry story ends — the Ship Yard Rigger Boot takes the boat shoe style into a workboot direction with that moc-toe complimented by a chunky off-white non-marking sole unit that bears the familiar siping pattern on the outsole. A canvas and leather mix, with hook branding and the Topsider heel seam completes the design, but despite the rugged looks, these are incredibly light. These fit true to size.
