The 550 was an unexpected addition to the New Balance archive line, but this running design gets the job done well. Suede and nylon still stays winning. It's easy to dwell on the more obvious New Balance creations, but with a lightweight feel and the scope for any number of contemporary colourway - simple enough to sit alongside the older low-slung marathon and offroad pioneers from the brand, but with enough bulk to stand up to newer performance experiments.
