Ian Mackaye knew what time it was, and that's good enough for us. A more detailed departure from the usual Vans blueprint, with the 'jazz stripe' branding, and a clean and easily identifiable shape, the Old Skool (style 36) was originally released in 1977 and as with so many other Vans designs, it's still very much in circulation, with subcultural credentials by the truckload. Good enough for Kerry King and co as well as hardcore pioneers, they're good enough for us and this leather California collection version is great.
